This isn’t exactly what we had in mind…
Did you ever have one of those days? Cue the Daniel Powter music: “So ya had a bad day…“
The Top Three things we learned today (BOO):
1. If you don’t have a parking permit, you need to park at the Birmingham Race Track and take a bus to Barber Motorsports Park. Don’t worry – it’s only a 12-mile ride.
2. If you follow step #1, you will miss quals.
3. If you don’t wear sunscreen, your Inside Pass shirt will not protect you from sunburn.
The great news is that The Inside Pass Pacesetters are some “glass half full” chicks. So buy us a drink already – our glasses are only half full. Where’s the bartender? We perservered, and here’s what we’ve got in store for you:
THE INSIDE PASS PILEUP – The inaugural Inside Pass Pileup will take place tomorrow (race day) from 10-11 a.m. at the IZOD IndyCar Fan Zone (click here for track maps – look for the Red Diamond Fan Zone on the Event Map). The event will be informal, as it’s our first one, but you’ll have a chance to talk racing, give your ideas on upcoming events, be part of The Inside Pass photo/video shoot, meet the Pacesetters and support the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation. After the Pileup, stick around the Fan Zone to sign up for IndyCar Downforce. If you’re already a member, feel free to hang out a the party for the pre-race festivities.
THE INSIDE PICS – Click here to see some of the pictures from Day 1 at Barber Motorsports Park. And click here to check out Izod IndyCar’s amazing pics from this and all other race weekends.
FYI – we’ll be sleeping on the pit wall tonight, all snuggled up with our air guns, just to make sure that we don’t miss ONE SECOND of the action tomorrow. That’s an Inside Pass promise right thurrr.
